Clothing the (Female) Masses

One of last year's big Posie Row projects was to seek out new clothing lines to add some variety, sophistication and fun to the textile offerings in the shop. Our efforts were so successful that, as we prepare for Spring/Summer 2011, we're wondering where all the lovely new clothing is going to live!

What's extra great is that, not only do we have some new suppliers with consistently-great lines, but our regulars have also come up with particularly beautiful and original stuff. Montreal-based Schwiing, for instance, designed so many cute dresses for Spring that we couldn't resist ordering them all (or almost all).
I mean really, who could resist these:

These beauties, and many more, will be available in the shop and online around March/April. They range in size from S to XL and are 100% cotton with a bit of flattering stretch. Can't wait!!!!!

Having conquered the world of pretty dresses, Posie Row's next clothing-related order of business is to clothe ladies of a variety of shapes and sizes. Our customer base, mainly female, ranges in age from about 5 to 90 years, and just as there's no single representative age of a Posie Row customer, nor is there a single representative shape. We've had larger-sized lines in the past, but wanted something fresh and widely appealling; hence Abaca, a beautiful high-quality cotton line from Mexico. We've recently received our first Abaca order (and it is actually made-to-order!), and the customer response has been excellent! A few folks have mentioned Abaca's similarity to the spectacular Canadian-designed artisan line Kayliana, though the Abaca pieces are a fraction of the price! This line works on all shapes and sizes- it can be worn loose on small bodies and will comfortably fit larger shapes. It's also great for layering. Visit the shop or contact us to find out more about Abaca!

Next order of fashion-related business; find space for men's stuff.....hmmm....
